One measurement, and no cookies.

The site counts page views and page speed through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not follow you to any other site. We see totals, not people.

There is nothing else: no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recorder, no third party embed, and no profiling. Every font and image is served from this domain, and the site's own HTTP headers name the single outside address it is allowed to load anything from, so the list cannot grow by accident.

If you email us, we have your email. That is the whole of it.

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Checked on the live site: no cookie, no local storage, no session storage.

The one exception is not ours to make. Cloudflare, which serves this site, may set a cookie of its own if it decides a request needs to be checked for automation. That is a security measure applied by the network, not something this site asks for or reads.

Cloudflare injects a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com into each page. It records that a page was viewed and how quickly it rendered, then sends that to argyrolabs.com/cdn-cgi/rum, which is this domain rather than somebody else's. It is the only thing on this site loaded from an address that is not ours.

What we get out of it is a count: which pages were read, roughly where in the world from, and how fast they were. What we do not get, and could not get, is a way to recognise you, follow you between visits, or connect anything here to anything anywhere else. Cloudflare's handling of it is governed by their privacy policy.

If you block it, with an extension or a browser that blocks trackers by default, the site works exactly the same. Nothing here depends on it.

This site is a folder of static files on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request in order to answer it and to protect the site: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user agent, and the page you arrived from if your browser sent one.

We do not export this, and we do not connect it to the page counts above or to anything else. Cloudflare's own handling of it is governed by their privacy policy and their data processing terms.

The only way to contact us from this site is [email protected], which opens your own email program. Nothing is submitted through a form and nothing is sent to us until you press send.

Mail to that address is routed by Cloudflare Email Routing to a Google mailbox, so both companies handle the message in transit and at rest in the ordinary way that email works. We keep enquiries and project correspondence for as long as the working relationship and our accounting obligations require, and we do not add anyone to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.

This page is about this website. A project is different: building or maintaining a site often means access to hosting, a database, a content system, or backups that contain other people's personal data.

When that happens we act on the client's instructions and not our own. What we may access, for how long, and what happens at the end is written into the project agreement before work starts. Access is created in the client's name where the platform allows it, and it is handed back or revoked when the work ends. We do not copy client data anywhere it does not need to be, and we do not use it for anything other than the work.

Where data protection law gives you rights over personal data we hold, you can ask us for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it. In practice, for a visitor to this site, there is nothing to ask for. For someone who has emailed us or worked with us, write to [email protected] and we will answer.

If you are unhappy with how we have answered, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

This site is not aimed at children. It counts page views the same way for everyone and identifies nobody, so there is nothing here that treats a child differently, and nothing that could.

If this ever stops being true we will change this page rather than quietly change the site. The date below is the last time the wording here changed.
